5th Day of Class

Today we went back and learned some more things like みるもの (MIRUMONO), きくもの (KIKUMONO), はくもの (HAKUMONO) and きるもの (KIRUMONO).

We then went into base words and the tenses for verbs like for たべる (TABERU) which means eat, into たべます (TABEMASU) for going to eat, たべています (TABETEIMASU) for currently eating and たべました (TABEMASHITA) for have eaten. Our textbook basically had 27 common verbs which I assume we have to memorize.

We then did our longest sentence by combining a person, thing, place and action. Basically saying this person did an action with this item at this place. The sentence is like 「ひと」は 「もの」を 「ところ」で 「どうし」。

The question for the sentence is basically “What are you doing?” in each of it tenses like どうします (DOUSHIMASU), どうしています (DOUSHITEIMASU) and どうしました (DOUSHIMASHITA).

I started looking up the particles in this long sentence は(WA), を (O) and で (DE) for their reasoning. For は (WA)  marks the subject directly following it, in this case it is the person. For を (O), it is the direct object of the transitive verb so for eating, this is referring to what I am eating. For で (DE), indicates where the action is taking place.
